At Sunny Patch Preschool we celebrate the magic of early childhood.

Our home daycare is geared to support little explorers 18 months to five years.
We offer a fun school readiness program in a mixed age group. Our play based preschool program is the perfect place for your child to discover a wide range of color, texture and creative movement using various materials. We offer many open ended preschool activities designed to facilitate your child's development in our home daycare.

We believe in building confidence and self esteem through connections with loving adults. We also foster a connection to nature by offering LOTS of physical activity in our beautiful outdoor classroom.

The first five years are full of new milestones and BIG emotions! Your child is learning so much in that time, it’s no wonder they sometimes get overwhelmed. We believe in helping children learn to calm down by using a strategy called co-regulating where the caregiver stays with the child as he or she works through big emotions.
Throughout the morning we work also on many practical life skills and social activities by offering extra adult support. We teach the children breathing techniques, yoga and other methods of self regulation to help your child develop life long personal management skills.

Time in nature is also scientifically proven to help children feel more emotionally and physically balanced. Our outdoor classroom is just the pace for your little on to develop academic, social and emotional skills to last a lifetime!
At sunny patch preschool we pride ourselves on creating a calm atmosphere where children feel connected and supported by experienced staff. We also take additional training courses yearly that are specifically tailored to helping children navigate those big emotions in loving ways.

Our indoor and outdoor classrooms offer a variety play spaces and experiences for the children to explore based on their personal interests and needs. Young children are curious and NEED novelty, our teachers know this and have a variety of play provocations ready to greet them each day.

We intentionally plan our environment by offering opportunities to build those fine motor skills, stretch our creative thinking, experimenting and learning about the properties of different materials.

Table top Activities
Our large tables in the center of the room are the perfect place to share family style eating experience or explore table top activities in a small group. We offer lots of play prompts such as drawing materials, letter / number matching activities and board games. This is a great area for the children who LOVE to spend time on small group calmer activities with the teacher.

Healthy eating habits are a big part of your growing child’s overall wellness! The the first five years are the foundation of healthy habits that will last a lifetime. We pride ourselves on providing your child with a nutritionally sound meal plan. We offer lots of healthy, high quality food options and we encourage children to take part in mealtime by cooking activities into our lesson plans.
Our rotating menus include whole grains, lean sources of protein and a variety of fresh seasonal produce. We believe in serving healthy whole foods overly processed foods or sugary juices.
OUTDOOR PLAY

Our Outdoor Classroom is the perfect place to extend our learning.
The mud kitchen we learn - social skills, fine motor development (pincer grasp, wrist and finger strength) math and science as we mix, pour and create concoctions.
In the meeting place - we tell stories, have circle time, discuss activities and pretend play.
In art station we explore art materials, paint on the large scale easel practice cutting and gluing skills in open ended activities.
In the climbing area we build our large muscles, practice risk taking skills and gain confidence in our motor skills.
In the big field we have races, music and invent activities, soccer, chase and other big movement activities.

A home away from home for young families
I began my first home daycare as a young mother because I dreamt of a place where children could have a preschool experience in a cozy home environment. I struggled to find a program that met my standards so I went out and created the program I currently run.
My love for the work I was doing and my passion for supporting families in the early years is the driving force behind everything we do here at Sunny Patch Preschool!
